Well I've never smoked before, so i don't really know what to do. Try chewing gum, or just having something to do with your hands or somethign in your mouth. Congrats on trying to quit! thats awesome! good luck!

You'll have the urges for about three weeks, and then they'll pass.I quit cold turkey back in 1999. You know what made me quit? FEAR! I had a heart attack when I was 38, largely due to smoking. I made the decision to quit while I was on the operating table having a catheter inserted in my leg for my brand new shiny angioplasty.Quit now. You'll thank yourself later.

I've recently quit smoking so I know exactly what you're going through. If you want to avoid taking medications or anything of that sort I say you just try what I've been doing.Chewing gum, mints, hard candy, and tea.Whenever you feel the need to smoke a cigarette pick up one of these things.Chew on a pen cap if you have to just anything to keep you from picking up a cigarette because you'll think, "Just one hit won't kill me."You'll be back to smoking as you were in no time.Another way to help yourself not get the urges is to always keep yourself busy with something.I play the guitar when I get urges to smoke or I'll read a book. I'll go for a jog if need be.Anything to keep me from picking up a pack of cigarettes.Good luck!

Has anyone here ever tried low-level laser for smoking? It worked pretty well for me, at least to get me past the first cravings. Anyone else ever try it? I had to go through my doctor.
