I'm trying to help my wife quit smoking and she mentioned that I research the electronic cigarette for her. Unfortunately, the internet is full of useless information on this things and I can't seem to find any real reviews. Can anyone point me in the right direction or recommend what works?

I am a relative Newbie myself but have done a lot of research and used the ECF Forum to aid in getting me to the best e-cig for me and my lifestyle and needs. My husband and I had smoked for over 25 years each and we chose to try to kick the habit with Blu Ecigs. There are a lot of negative opinions about Blu but I believe that it's similarity to analog cigarettes in size and the fact that you still have a pack to carry around and it chargers your batteries on the go are very helpful to the smoker trying to kick the habit. Once we had 1 1/2 months of Tabacco free days under our belts we looked for a better fit. We grew tired of charging the Blu constantly and although their cartomizers were very convenient, tasty and a savings over analogs they didn't seem to last for as long as they claimed and I knew we could save more money. After a very short trial of a 510 we went straight to where we thought we would end up in an effort to cut out all the extra cost and frustration of trial and error. You see in You Tube reviews (very helpful info by the way) and on the forum that people have been through months and money buying 3, 4, 5 or more different e-cigs to find the best fit and we wanted to avoid that. We went with the Ego T system with 900 mah (I think they come in 1000 now) batteries. We bought the "b" tanks and atomizers and the "a" tanks and atomizers and Boge 2.0 Cartomizers (carto and atomizer in one). The batteries last all day (always buy kit with two batteries in case one dies) and you can buy e-liquid to refill the tanks and cartomizers and realize a big savings over analogs. The cartomizers give you good flavor but you need to keep them filled so they don't burn. The "a" tanks hold about 1 ml of liquid and the "b" tanks hold 2 ml so they are great for filling and not having to worry about refilling all day, but you do loose some flavor and you will need to clean the atomizers every couple/few weeks and burn residue off coil too. These topics are all covered in the forum. As I understand it you will have access to those threads after 7 posts. So just search Ego T, Ego T Atty cleaning, Boge 2.0 cartomizers, etc. Use the forum, the people on it paved the way during a time when ecigs were not as hassle free as they are now. They have seen the evolution of ecigs and if you are having a problem you can be sure someone else on the forum has already had that problem and has good advice.
Good luck to you and your wife!

The two I have seen recommended the most are the 510 and the Ego. Luckily, both use the same 510 thread size, so all parts are interchangeable. My first e-cig was the Riva, which is pretty much the same thing as the Ego. It has a larger battery than the standard 510 which allows me to go over an entire day without having to recharge. So, if you want a smaller battery and don't mind recharging it often, go with the 510. If you need something with a little more umph to it, get the Ego.
