Made a few from Digikey OKR chips. Variable Voltage Mod.
First I removed the LED board, battery terminals, and plastic screw holes.
Then, I use painters tape top secure the box together and a sharpie to mark my holes.
Drill out button and battery connector holes, remove tape, and place them inside of the box.
Solder the chip to your board and make your connections. Used 18 gauge stranded.
Pop thumb wheel pot through existing hole in the back and LED to the top of the circuit board.

This is a great little mod that has given me tons of use. The chip isn't the cheapest out there, but it's extremely efficient and durable.
